The Homedome 'bear pit' project primarily aims to provide shelter and healthcare for homeless people in Bristol, UK.
The Dome would occupy a pedestrianised area of central Bristol, and would create an ideal music and arts venue which could potentially seat several thousand people.
The acoustics inside a dome are very good, allowing day time events to be arranged, accomodating buskers and street entertainment acts.
The catering and general running of the dome would be managed by a team that would help the homeless to learn the skills in catering, music and stage services.
Homedome would also include a laundry service offering washing facilities, which would also be available to the passing general public, creating an additional revenue stream which would contribute towards the operational costs of the facility.
The main funding would come from events and the electronic advertising on the exterior lower section of the Homedome.
This whole area of Bristol could eventually become 'Bristol Dilly Circus', with plenty of advertising revenue created as a result.
Homedome would become a 'first stop shop' providing the homeless with essential commodities such as shelter, jobs and healthcare, including mental health.
We are trying to develop a part of Bristol into an arts and music events arena which is also designed to provide shelter and work opportunities for the Homeless population of Bristol, UK.
Not only music but a speakers platform for ideas and positive thoughts to share with the passing public. We want to incorporate health care, mental health healing and a vets to help the Homeless in this project. The city centre position of this dome is perfect for electronic advertising which will only help in funding the project and its future maintenance and running costs.
